Top 8 Crystals for 2024
Each year holds a different energy that affects us on both a personal and collective level. Numerology, astrology and tarot are a few ways in which to interpret this energy. Before we dive into the crystals best suited for 2024, let’s better understand the energy we’ll be experiencing this year through the lens of these tools.
2024: A 8 Universal Year
In numerology, the year 2024 breaks down to an 8, which connects to the energy of power, growth and success. It also represents balance and the cycle of life as a continuous flow of energy. This sets the stage for a year where we as a collect will be guided to step more into our own unique talents and gifts, where our true power lies, and use them to manifest our desires.
However, before we do so, we must take a look at what is, and is not, currently working for us and make the necessary changes to bring things back into balance to achieve our goals. We may need to reassess and/or reorganize a certain area or areas of our lives before we continue moving forward. Or we may need to make the hard decision to walk away from people, places or things that no longer serve us.
During 2024, we may also be pushed into new roles or ways of being that test our confidence and courage. We may find ourselves in unfamiliar territory which may cause us to question our abilities. But all of this is meant to break us out of the status quo and spur our growth.
It’s a year of hard work and determination. But a year that also holds the promise of success if we have the wherewithal to stay the course. And although we may not see the fruits of our labor straightway, we will see glimmers of newness on the horizon that will ultimately lead to rewards in the 9 Universal year of 2025.
2024: A Cosmic Bridge
If we look at the energies of the cosmos in 2024, we’ll discover many of the same themes playing out with task-master Saturn, who rules the number 8. As he works his way through Pisces, the last sign of the Zodiac, he’s asking us to clear out any old, stagnant energy before he enters Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac, and begins a new cycle.
Facing hard truths, seeking counseling and healing past traumas all fall under the sign of Pisces. These are examples of the obstacles we may face before crossing the bridge into the next phase of our lives.
Saturn also rules the sign of Capricorn, where Pluto has been transiting for the past sixteen years, transforming the structures of our lives in very real and profound ways. And although Pluto will be moving into Aquarius on January 20th of 2024, he will return to Capricorn later in the year, September 1st through November 19th, to tie up loose ends before returning and remaining in Aquarius until 2044. This too symbolizes a closing of one cycle and starting of another.
2024: The Strength Card
In the Tarot’s Major Arcana, the Strength card is number 8. It’s a card that represents, courage, determination and fortitude. It exemplifies a Strength, that is not just physical but mental, emotional and spiritual as well. It is an unwavering strength, that carries us beyond the superficial and into the depths of our own power.
In addition to the Strength card, two other cards in the tarot align with the energy of 2024, the 8 of Cups and the 8 of Pentacles. These cards reiterate the aspect of letting go of the past (8 of Cups) to create something different (8 of Pentacles). Together they represent the act of walking away from one thing in order to build something else more stable, secure and long-lasting.
The archetypes within all three cards hold a certain level of self-knowledge and personal will. It is their understanding and acceptance of what has come before, and what is yet to exist, that gives them the courage and strength to keep going. It’s this ability to make peace with the past before moving towards new horizons, that sets them up for success.

How to Work with Them
Now that we know which crystals align best with the energy of the year, let’s discuss how we can work with them. Here’s three easy ways to connect with their energy and the energy we wish to embody.
Incorporate them into your meditation and/or ritual practices.
Create a grouping of two or three at your bedside or other sacred space.
Create a grid.
Let’s explore these in more detail.
Meditation & Ritual Practices
By incorporating a crystal into your meditation practice you can help bring greater focus and awareness to your intention. Simply hold the crystal in your left hand while you engage in your favorite form of meditation.
Alternatively, you can gaze upon a crystal while holding it. Allow your body and mind to relax, and your eyes to shift out of focus. Then see what feelings, sensations or thoughts arise while gazing at the crystal. Tip, Pyrite is quite mesmerizing and may be a great crystal to try with this technique.
You can also try holding a crystal during a ritual such as this.
Hold Apatite in your left hand while you emersed your body in a bath. Visualize any feelings of guilt, shame or fear escape the body through your pores and fall into the water. Once complete, drain the water and these feelings from the tub, taking note of how the body and mind feel as you watch the water leave the tub.
Grouping of Two or Three
By creating a group of two or three crystals you begin to layer or compound the energy, allowing them to compliment and amplify each other.
For more bang for your buck, combine three crystals with different properties, for instance Apatite, Citrine and Hematite to help ease worries, increase optimism and belief in oneself and the world around them, while purging the mind of unwanted thoughts and grounding in more positive beliefs.
Be sure to leave this grouping where you can see and interact with its energy often. Either on a altar, at your bedside or the heart of the home, which is often the living room.
Create a Grid
For some, creating a grid can be overwhelming. However, it doesn’t have to be. Broken down to its core, it’s nothing more than the grouping of crystals we discussed above.
Therefore, we’ll want to select our crystals in a similar fashion by picking crystals that hold different, yet complimenting energies. Again, it’s best to have a minimum of three crystals and when possible include a grounding crystal.
You can also use a sacred geometry cloth or wood disc as a framework and an extra layer of energy, but it’s not necessary.
To start, select a crystal for the center that holds the energy of your main intention. Then select two additional supporting crystals. One that complements the intention, and one that grounds the intention. Then place them around the center crystal, alternating them as you go.
To activate the grid, keep the intention at the forefront of your mind while creating it and speak it out loud when your complete.
You can also try writing your intention down and placing it near the grid, or creating a supporting mantra that can be recited while gazing at the grid. For example, a mantra for the grouping of crystals above might be, ‘I release all fear and worry, and embrace the peace within me.’
